4th April 2007 - 2018

The team were tasked to reports of a Seal in distress and being harrassed by a group of youths on Roker Pier. On arrival the team located a young seal pup resting on the pier stairs. The animal was checked by team members and a local Marine Mammal Medic from Sunderland Lifeboat Crew. The seal appeared to be fit and well. A group of youths were offered suitable advice and moved on.

5th April 2007 - 2136

The Team were tasked to reports of a Red Flare being fired south of Sunderland in the Ryhope area. A thorough search was made with Sunderland Lifeboat investigating a number of contacts. After nearly 2 1/2 hours the teams were stood down once all contacts had been confirmed safe and well. False Alarm with good intent.

7th April 2007 - 1125

The Cycle Response Team whislt on a local area patrol were alerted by a member of the public to a man who had seconds before fallen from the Sea Wall at Seaburn Promenade. The cycle response team were first on scene and rendered medical aid to the casualty who had suffered spinal and head injuries from his 15 feet fall, until Paramedics arrived.

8th April 2007 - 0905

The Team were tasked to assist a stranded seal on Seaburn Promenade. The team assisted the local council in relocating and releasing the seal in the safety of Sunderland Port.

8th April 2007 - 1630

The Team were tasked by Humber Coastguard to attend reports of 2 persons in the water and a boat adrift in the vicinty of Wearmouth Bridge. On arrival the police had taken both persons into custody. Sunderland ILB towed the boat back to moorings in Deptford.
