Recruitment
Do you think you have what is takes to join us?
There are three options for recruits joining the Brigade. All applicants will be subject to police and child protection checks and a probationary period of one year must be served before full acceptance into the Brigade
All you need to be part of our team is the will to learn and help others.
You do not need any qualifications as all training is given and we have members from every background - you don't have to be a seafarer!
We have a wide range of people in the team from a rope access technician to a satellite TV engineer through to retired members - whatever you do you in your day job you may have skills which will help us help others!
Rescue Team - Members of our rescue team must train to a high standard and be prepared to attend call outs at anytime of the day or night. Full training in cliff rescue, radio procedure, navigation, first aid and other skills necessary for the rescue job will be given. If you are over 25 with a clean licence then you may be eligible to drive our rescue vehicle after the required training.
Coastwatch - The Coastwatch is suited to people who are looking for something to fill in some spare time. Particularly suited to ex-mariners but application is open to anyone interested in the sea. The only qualifications you need are an interest and the will to learn. All training will be given on radio, radar, chartwork, naviagation, ship recognition and much more.
Fundraisers- Fundraisers are needed to help us maintain our facilities and keep the Brigade running. We run regular collections and charity events all of which require staff. Do your bit for the charity without the early morning call outs!.
