Captain Dale Checksfield
Captain Dale Checksfield joined SVLB in early 2004. Dale is the Captain of the rescue team and previously Station Controller of the Coastwatch.
Born in Germany to a forces family Dale has eventually settled in South Shields. Full time he is a Navigating Officer at sea and in his spare time enjoys the study of meteorology and educating young people in Nautical subjects through a variety of charities.
An avid weather enthusiast he runs his own weather station in South Shields.
